Parent’s Reconciling Ministries Network
The Parent’s Reconciling Network (PRN) is an extension of the Reconciling Ministries Network within the United Methodist Church. The PRN offers helpful support, guidance, and resources for parents and other family members of LGBTQ+ youth. Visit their webpage above for more resources.
Puyallup Food Bank
The Puyallup Food Bank is a volunteer-based organization that has been serving our area for over 50 years. They provide food with dignity to those in need. To do so, they rely on donations from local farms, individuals, businesses, and churches likes ours (see our Missions & Outreach page for pictures of our Food Bank Garden). They believe that “food is the first step on a journey to a more hopeful future!” Visit their webpage for assistance, or to learn more about donating/volunteering.
Family Renewal Domestic Violence Shelter
The Family Renewal Shelter in Tacoma offers support for victims and families experiencing domestic violence. They can help with emergency advocacy and transportation, finding case management and referrals, relocation, and they have an on-site pet shelter so no pets need be left behind. Their 24-hour local crisis line number is 1-253-475-9010. You can visit their site above for more info, and to learn to recognize the signs of abuse.
PUMC Blessing Box
In our church parking lot, you’ll find our Blessing Box. This was a ministry started by one of our PUMC youth. She thought that we could create a sharing spot for food and other small items to bless and serve our neighbors. In it, you’ll find books, food, etc. Feel free to stop by and leave something for others, or to help yourself. We’re located at 1919 W Pioneer; Puyallup, WA 98371.
Aging and Disability Resource Center
The Pierce County Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) can provide assistance with accessing services and care planning to meet the needs of older adults, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers is a part of the WA State Department of Social Services. They also release a helpful monthly e-newsletter that focuses on local events and issues related to older adults and persons with disabilities. Nourish Pierce County
Nourish Pierce County operates and shares weekly schedule updates for over 20 local area food banks. They even have two mobile food banks that serve parts of the county that otherwise would not have access to a traditional food bank. Check out their Food Bank Locator tool.
